Kanye West's mother passed away on Sunday in LA from complications during what may have been basic cosmetic surgery. I have heard rumors it had to do with her being allergic to the general anasthesia. She was only 58 and Kanye was in London working at the time. I feel so sad for Kanye - I always felt like his mom was his rock and the one person who managed to keep him a teeny bit grounded. I imagine this tragic event may completely change the course of future music that we hear from Kanye.
Last night, Jay Z played at the Hammerstein Ballroom and he dedicated his entire concert to Kanye and reserved a moment of silence for Kanye's mom. Very cool of Jay Z.
