For the last two days I have been trying to figure out what to say about the tragic massacre at Virginia Tech. A celebrity/social blog seems very lame when compared to what the students, family and faculty are going through at Virginia Tech today.
As I watch the news, powerful stories about students and teachers acting as heroes are overwhelming and constant. Desks quickly thrown against doors to block sprays of bullets, people shoving the shooter and even students risking their lives to stay in Norris Hall, running door to door to get other people out of the building and into safety.
Still, 32 innocent people lost their lives yesterday. 32 people with a lot of life to live and who did nothing to deserve this. I am praying for everyone touched by this tragedy.

It is too bad that Nikki Giovanni is trying to use this situation as a platform to promote her own political agenda. It is supposed to be about the victims, not Giovanni’s political ideology.
